Opening Prayer
Lord, help me to relax. Take from me the tension that makes peace impossible. Take from me the fears that do not allow me to venture. Take from me the worries that blind my sight. Take from me the distress that hides your joy. Help me to know that I am with you, that I am in your care, that I am in your love. Amen.

Call to Worship:
One: Let us fix our eyes on Jesus,
All: The author and perfecter of our faith,
One: Who for the joy set before him endured the cross,
All: Scorning its shame, he sat down at God's right hand.
One: Let us consider him who endured such opposition from sinful people,
All: So that we will not grow weary and lose heart.
One: Let us worship God!

Hymn                 Open My Eyes

Prayer of Confession

God of mercy, you sent Jesus Christ to seek and save the lost. We confess
that we have strayed from you and turned from your way. We are misled
by pride, for we see ourselves pure when we are stained and great when
we are small. We have failed in love, neglected justice, and ignored your
truth. Have mercy, O God, and forgive our sin. Return us to paths of
righteousness through Jesus Christ, our Savior. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon
The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance,
that Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners.
He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross,
so that we, free from sins, might live for righteousness;
by his wounds we have been healed.
Know that you are forgiven and be at peace. Amen!

God of compassion,
into your hands we commend all for whom we pray,

We are now very bold to pray the prayer Jesus taught us, saying... Amen.

Hymn Nearer, My God, to Thee

Now...go out into the world (as much as we are able) and go in peace. May the GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ, the LOVE of God, and the FELLOWSHIP and POWER of the Holy Spirit be with you and all those whom you love, wherever they may be, this day and in to all eternity. Amen.
