Opening Prayer

All: God, our Rock, our refuge, our resting place, we come to you. Out of another busy week, out of our struggles to be meaningful in our world, out of our desire to meet you and know you as the center of our being, we come to you, O unmovable Rock of our security. Amen.

Prelude

Call to Worship
One:
Come to God who gathers us in.

All:  We come to God who nurtures us like a father.
One: Come to God whose arms are open and waiting.
All:  We come to God who welcomes and forgives us.
One: Come to God who journeys with us.
All:  We come to God who sees us as we really are and loves us anyway.
One: Come! Let us worship God!

Call to Confession

Prayer of Confession

All: O God, Father that you are, you know what is right for us, but too often we only want our way, instead of your way. Have mercy upon us when we turn from you. Forgive us when we do not realize your love and direction for us. Teach us anew how to follow you, Father that you are. We pray this through your Son, our Lord and Savior and brother, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Prayer for Illumination

All: Father God, you have declared that your kingdom is among us. Open our eyes to see it, our ears to hear it, our hearts to hold it, our hands to serve it. This we pray in Jesus’s name. Amen.

Prayer of Dedication

All: O God, help us to see you in the needs that confront us daily. Help us to see you in those who are weak, lonely, hungry, and afraid. As we offer ourselves to those who need love, may we know that we are touching you. Use these gifts to expand Your love and kingdom. We pray this in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
